Utility company scammers

In 2025, CERT.LV and Sadales tīkls described calls in which scammers posed as Elektrum, Latvenergo or Sadales tīkls staff, claimed a meter needed inspection or replacement, and tried to obtain data, enter homes or collect cash.

What to do
Never make a payment or share personal information after an unexpected call. Look up the company's contact details on its official website and call back yourself.
