Fake bank calls: how to recognize them

Scammers impersonate banks or supervisory bodies, and your screen may show an apparently safe or even genuine institution number. Caller ID alone therefore does not verify who is calling.

Warning signs
- Pressure to act fast and threats to block your account.
- Requests for your card details, passwords, or Smart-ID codes.
- Urging you to transfer money to a “safe” account.
What to do
Hang up and call your bank on the number printed on your card or listed on the bank's website. Never share your login credentials over the phone.
